Thank you for playing Springfield Stories

Lakeland Arts is an arts organisation based in South Lakeland, Cumbria, UK.

As part of our MEND project, we have developed a series of interactive stories. These stories have been based on true experiences of those who have undergone abuse.

These accounts have been gathered by Springfield, a support service for people who have experienced abuse in South Lakeland, as well as the only refuge for women in Cumbria.

This is currently a beta version, which will be updated and tested regularly with players.

Abuse and trauma can be scary and taboo topics to talk about 

Lakeland Arts and Springfield have collaborated on this project to talk about them through this game. 

As a museum, art gallery, and cultural organisation, Lakeland Arts has a duty to collect stories and objects that represent Cumbrian life. 

This game is a digital object that will exist to represent the experiences of those who experience domestic abuse and have had their voices hidden.
